Broward

The vibrant Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Greater Fort Lauderdale is comprised of 22 blocks of shopping, dining, waterfront parks and major cultural attractions.  Downtown Fort Lauderdale is the nucleus of the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, thanks to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Art, the Museum of Discovery and Science with its Blockbuster 3D IMAX Theater, the Florida Grand Opera, Old Fort Lauderdale Village and Museum, Stranahan House, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and Cultural Information Ticketing Center.  All facilities are within walking distance of one another along Riverwalk, a 1.5 mile meandering promenade that runs along the New River, and are situated at the western end of Las Olas Boulevard, the city's chic shopping and dining street, near more than 20 private art galleries. Gallery hopping is a regular feature of Friday evenings and arts festivals are held monthly. Free outdoor special events, Sunday Jazz Brunches and evening concerts on Riverwalk provide a lively backdrop for weekend outings.
