Application
The application process for the Emerging Business Program ended on June 30, 2006. At this time, the Host Committee is no longer accepting applicatons for this program. In March of 2009, there will be another opportunity to be a part of the Emerging Business Program leading into preparations for Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.
Monthly Reporting Information and Form
To ensure accurate reporting, the Host Committee requires the Emerging Business Program participants to report their contracts each month. Please report ALL Super Bowl XLI related activities. Every participant must report at the end of the month regardless of whether or not your business was awarded a contract.
The Host Committee's goal is to get as many businesses involved in Super Bowl XLI as possible. The monthly report is our way to gauge the success of the Emerging Business Program and make improvements for the future.

History
It is the policy of the NFL that minority and woman-owned businesses (MWOB) have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl business procurement process. The NFL adopted a Minority Business Development program in 1994 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for businesses.
Mission
To promote and facilitate economic opportunity for qualified and certified South Florida's Minority/Women Owned Businesses through procurement contracts with the NFL, NFL contractors and affiliates; the Host Committee, and local hotels, venues and event producers.
Objectives
- To maximize and inform the South Florida MWOB communities of opportunities available surrounding Super Bowl XLI.
- To serve as the conduit between South Florida MWOB, the NFL and its affiliates and corporate sponsors.
- To create on-going business opportunities for South Florida 's MWOB program before and beyond SUPER BOWL XLI (The NFL realizes that not all interested MWOB will receive contracts or work related to SUPER BOWL XLI, however, it is intended for these entities to receive an education in the large event procurement process, an introduction to potential partners and exposure to other procurement opportunities
Primary Program Components
- The Super Bowl XLI Emerging Business Program defines MWOB as a for-profit business, regardless of size, physically located in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. This business must be owned, operated and controlled by minority or woman group members. "Ownership" by a minority or woman means the business is at least 51% owned by such group or individual. Additionally, the minority or woman group members or individual must control the management and daily business operations.
- The SUPER BOWL XLI Vendor Workshop Series is designed to introduce the South Florida MWOB community to the NFL, to educate this community about doing SUPER BOWL XLI business and to keep the general public informed of the programs and processes.
- The SUPER BOWL XLI Business Resource Guide is a listing of qualified South Florida MWOB covering a wide array of products and services. The initial guide will be distributed to procurement entities involved with SUPER BOWL XLI and an on-line version will be updated regularly as new MWOB join the program.
- The SUPER BOWL XLI Emerging Business Program Matchmaking Program will match qualified South Florida MWOB with various hiring/contracting entities, assist in locating qualified MWOB and make referrals. The program also will work with participating MWB in responding to and completing Requests for Proposals, scheduling appointments, and assisting in the creation of joint ventures and other partnerships.
- The SUPER BOWL XLI Hotel Merchandising Program will provide qualified South Florida MWOB vendors the opportunity to sell licensed SUPER BOWL XLI products in area hotels. Selected vendors will be required to participate in a specific training program.
- The SUPER BOWL XLI Licensing Program will work with the NFL to issue special Super Bowl licenses for unique, high-quality products. These licenses are offered too qualified South Florida MWOB at a reduced cost and the NFL then assists the selected licensees by seeking various channels of distribution for their products. These licenses are good only for SUPER BOWL XLI and expire in March 2007.
